How to Raise a Delinquent Kid, part III

OK, this is the last time. But, I've had such fun with this topic and the rules makes sense. So I have to share 2 more rules with you from an old pamphlet put out about 50 years ago. You may be raising a delinquent if you:

* Take his part against neighbors, teachers and policemen. They are all prejudiced against your child!

* Give the child all the spending money he wants. Never let him earn his own.

Hmm, think about it today. What's your comment? Say what you think below...

I've never understood parents who refused to believe their child ever did anything wrong. I had one friend who was like this. All her son's problems were the result of teachers not liking him or coaches being unfair. Her son ended up dealing drugs and went to prison.

Linda - I know what you mean and know parents who were in denial of their son's behavior. They enabled him to continue making wrong, hurtful choices, blaming his friends for getting him in trouble, or others for being judgmental. Dah! Now they can't understand why he's hooked on drugs, been incarcerated, has 3 illegitimate kids, and still can't make wise choices.
I used to tell my kids that their teachers weren't paid to like them but, to teach them. Of course I wanted the teachers to like my kids but, hey, some years there was just that personality conflict. Deal with it.
